STATE PAYKA VOLLEYBALL CHAMPIONSHIP
PILLAI HOC INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL WON RUNNERS-UP
Pillai HOC International School Volleyball team
who represent Raigad district in the Pyka State
Volleyball Championship came Runners-up in recently
held Pyka State Volleyball Championship held at
Mahda, Solapur (District). Pillai Hoc International
School who won the District title led the team
as playing six consist of the Pillai`s made history
in achieving this for Raigad. Vinayak Upadhyay
who captained the team who also represent Maharashtra
in recently held Jr. National Volleyball championship
at Perinthalmana (Kerala) showed an outstanding
performance in spiking and adjudged as the best
player of the tournament .The setter of the team
Dishant Rawat a 10th std student of Pillai HOC
International School played extremely well throughout
the tournament and also made his entry in to the
state team for the forthcoming national to be
held at Kolkata . Jaydeep Holgar, Mithilesh Jangid
also shown talents in volleyball. Sagar rathod
the all rounder and the libero, Hasmukh patil
also played excellent game during the tournament.
In the matches the team over powered the strong
Jalgaon district (25-18,25-08) in their first
match and in the subsequent matches they beat
Buldhana (25-16,25-27,15-07)in quarter they beat
the Host Sholapur (26-24,23-25,15-08) and in the
semis they beat Sangli (25-20,25-23) and in the
finals they unfortunately lost to Kolahpur (17-25,23-25,21-25).

TOUSIF S. SHAIKH MADE IT AGAIN FOR PILLAI HOC INTERNATIONAL
SCHOOL
The elite Athlete of Pillai HOC International
School who represent Raigad in the State PYKA
Athletics Championship won the Gold in Shot put
by clearing a distance of 13.36 mtrs,at Pune ,Balewadi,
and made his entry in to the state squad for the
nationals. Due to a volley of illness (typhoid
and Malaria) which forced him to be out of field
for most of these season, it proved to be a came
back trial for Tousif.
TEJAS MALI WON THE SILVER IN TAEKWONDO SCHOOL NATIONAL
GAMES
The Marshal art boy of Pillai HOC International
school, Tejas Mali (11th std)
who won the Gold in the State School Taekwondo
U-19 category made his presence felt by winning
Silver medal in National School games Taekwondo
Championship held at Daphiya(Madhypradesh) from
14-18 Dec 2011. In the finals he lost Delhi by
(6-7).
Tejas Mali also rewarded by Karnala Sports Academy
with Panvel Bhushan award on
29the December 2011 for his outstanding performance
in Taekwondo.

Mahatma Education Society would like to congratulate
Pillai College of Arts, Commerce and Science student
Suryakumar Yadav
for winning the MA Chidambaram Trophy for the
best Under- 22 cricketer of the year award at
the BCCI Awards Ceremony held in Chennai
on December 10, 2011. He scored 721 runs at an
average of 80.11 in seven matches, inclusive of
two centuries and four half centuries in the calendar
year.
SuryakumarYadav has not looked back since playing
a starring role in the finals of the Champions
League Twenty 20 Cricket tournament in which his
team, the Mumbai Indians defeated the Royal Challengers
from Bangalore . He has followed that achievement
by scoring a double hundred for Mumbai against
Orissa in a Ranji Trophy game and then by scoring
a cracking century against Saurashtra. He has
been in brilliant form all season and if he continues
this scoring trend he will definitely in consideration
to play for the Indian Cricket National team pretty
soon.
The whole of Mahatma Education Society
is behind Surya for him to fulfill his lifelong
dream of playing for the national team one day.

11-13 Nov 2011. She also selected in to the University
Athletics team for the “ASHWAMEDH” the Mega Sports
Meet of Maharashtra Universities.

of Information Technology, Engineering ,Media
Studies Won One Gold Medal and Two Silver Medal
in 50 Mtrs Butterfly stroke,100 Mtrs Back stroke,and
50 Mtrs Back stroke respectively in Aquatics during
National level Intra-Engineering Sports Meet conducted
by MIT –Pune on 28 September to 2nd October 2011
at Pune. She also won one Silver Medal in 50 Mtrs
Back stroke and two Bronze Medals in 100 Mtrs
Back stroke and 100 Mtrs Buuterfly stroke respectively
in University of Mumbai Inter-Collegiate Aquatics

Tousif Shaik,15 year old boy
of PILLAI'S HOC INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL,
made Raigad and Maharashtra pride by winning the
Silver Medal in Pentathlon during 23rd National
Inter zone Jr. Athletic Championship held at Bhopal
from 2-5 sep 2011 under the aegis of Athletic
Federation. On his way to this glory he also won
silvers in Pentathlon & Individual shot-put
put events during West zone Athletic Championship
which held at Balewadi stadium at Pune, and also
made his present felt during state athletic meet
by winning Shot put Gold and Pentathlon silver.
Tousif improved his points tally in pentathlon
from 3430 points at State meet, 3480 points during
west zone and 3580 points at the latest event.

INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL
Another athlete of Pillai's Sports Academy Ms.
RADHA Joshi, also a student of the PILLAI'S
HOC INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL won silvers during state
meet and West zone meet came 4th in the National
meet. Radha basically runs cross country for all
these years changed her event after undergone
some specific battery of tests &performance
evaluation under P Padmakshan, sports conditioning
specialist and also the Sports Director of Pillai's
Group of Institutions recommended for change of
event which suit to the athlete and then took
400/400 Low Hurdle short distance events. This
is the first year Radha is contesting in hurdle
events and it is a remarkable achievement for
her as she won medal in her new event and get
noticed by all.
