1970  
Established the Chembur English High School. The fees were set at ten rupees per month and increased by a mere rupee a year to make education affordable to all.

1981  
Opened a Mahatma Night Junior College in Chembur, to encourage the working class to return to academics.

1985  
Established the first unaided D.Ed. college in Maharashtra - Mahatma Junior College of Education, Chembur.

1986  
Began a Mahatma Night Degree College of Commerce, Chembur to increase the employment potential of working students.

1990  
Invited by CIDCO to establish a quality school in Panvel. So started the Mahatma School of Academics and Sports. By building the infrastructure and creating employment for the locals we raised socio-economic standards of the region. We brought the highest standards of urban education to an undeveloped region, and equipped the school with modern amenities like high-tech laboratories and a swimming pool.
 
Started the first unaided B.Ed. college in Maharashtra - Pillai College of Education, Chembur.

1991  
Started the first unaided college of Physical Education in Maharashtra - Vidyadhiraja College of Physical Education and Research, New Panvel.
 
Started the first unaided Degree College of Architecture in India - Pillai College of Architecture, New Panvel.

1995  
Started registered NGO by MES - Euridite Education Mission (EEM) under the Society's Registration Act 1860 and the Bombay Public Trust 1950.

1998  
Started the first unaided college of Arts, Science and Commerce - Pillai College of Arts, Commerce and Science. This was the first of a series of institutions to be started at the Dr. Pillai Campus in New Panvel.
 
Started a first-of-its-kind Management Institute at the Pillai Campus in New Panvel - Pillai Institute of Management Studies and Research.

1999  
Started an unaided college of Engineering at the Pillai Campus in New Panvel - Pillai Institute of Information Technology, Engineering, Media Studies and Research.

2000  
Started a Polytechnic Institution with courses in mechanical engineering, automobile engineering, electronics engineering and computer engineering - Pillai Polytechnic, New Panvel.

2001  
Launched "Sambhav", an exhibition that provides a launching pad for several business innovations and which generates premium employment opportunities for our management graduates. An annual event, the exhibition is held over 10 acres of land and draws over 3,00,000 visitors.

2002  
Started Distance Education Centre in New Panvel - Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU).

2004  
Entered into a strategic alliance with Infosys for a collaborative program.
 
The Pillai College of Engineering drew funding for technological research and development from BARC.
 
The Pillai College of Arts, Commerce and Science got its accreditation within the minimum required six-year period, that too with an "A" rating, making it the only institution in the country to do so.
 
Started Research Forum by MES Management Board in recognition of a need to foster research practices among various departments of the Mahatma Education Society

2005  
Launched an International Exchange Program for our management students. Held annually in collaboration with St. Mary's College, USA, the program provides invaluable exposure to our students, at companies like Apple, Google, Genetech, IBM, Microsoft and Sun Microsystems.

2006  
Started the D.Ed. College in New Panvel - Pillai Comprehensive College of Education and Research.

2007  
Started the International School, Dr. Pillai Global Academy at Borivali, Gorai. The focus is to create global career options for students, while promoting local initiatives in community service and nation-building.
 
Invited by Hindustan Organic Chemicals, a large public sector undertaking, to enter into a unique public sector - private sector partnership and to develop an educational township catering to the comprehensive educational requirements of the region (Rasayani). This was a first-of-its-kind alliance in the history of Indian education.
 
Started the B.Ed. College in New Panvel - Pillai College of Education and Research, New Panvel.

2008  
Pillai Institute of Management Studies and Research has been accredited by the Maharashtra Government as "A" grade institution through Directorate of Technical Education.
 
Pillai Institute of Management Studies and Research has also been accredited by "NBA" (National Board of Accreditation), the highest recognition being granted in India.
 
Pillai Institute of Information Technology, Engineering, Media Studies and Research has also been accredited by NBA. (The highest honour in India) for all four programmes in Engineering - Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Electronics Engineering and Mechanical Engineering.
 
Pillai HOC College of Arts, Science and Commerce was started in Rasayani with B.Sc. in Information Technology and B.Sc. in Computer Science.

2009  
Started an International School, Dr. Pillai Global Academy in New Panvel.
 
Started Pillai HOC College of Engineering and Technology in Rasayani with Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical, Computers, Information Technology and Electronics and Telecommunication.
 
Pillai Institute of Information Technology, Engineering, Media Studies and Research started B.E. in (Automobile), M.E. (Mechanical CAD / CAM Design), M.E. (Information Technology), M.E. (Electronics) and M.E. (Computer).
 
Started the D.Ed. College in Rasayani - Dr. Pillai HOC Junior College of Education.
 
Started CBSE School in New Panvel - Mahatma International School.
 
Started CBSE School and Junior College in Rasayani - MES HOC International School and Junior College of Science and Commerce.
 
Started Polytechnic Institutions in Rasayani - Pillai HOC Polytechnic.
 
Started Management Institutions in Rasayani - Pillai HOC Institute of Management Studies and Research.
 
Started Executive-MBA (E-MBA) and Management Development Program (MDP) Program in New Panvel - Pillai Institute of Management Studies and Research.

2010  
Started the B.Ed. College in Rasayani - Pillai HOC College of Education and Research.
 
Started Architecture college in Rasayani - Pillai HOC College of Architecture.

2011  
Pillai College of Architecture, New Panvel started M.Arch. course in Urban Design. This course is approved by Council of Architecture and affiliated to the University of Mumbai.

2012  
Started Library Centre in New Panvel - Pillai Centre for Advances in Library Information Technology and Research" and its first programme, "Post Graduate Diploma in Library Information Technology (PGDILIT)".
 
Pillai Institute of Information Technology, Engineering, Media Studies and Research started Masters of Engineering in Mechanical Thermal.
 
Pillai HOC Polytechnic, Rasayani started Diploma in Civil and Mechanical Engineering.

2013  
Pillai Institute of Information Technology, Engineering, Media Studies and Research, New Panvel started Masters of Engineering in Information Technology (Artificial Intelligence and Robotics).
 
Pillai College of Education and Research, New Panvel started Research Centre for Ph.D.

Launched 'Alegría - the Festival of Joy' - a multi-institution mega festival, dedicated towards providing a platform for students to showcase top quality talents in various backgrounds.

2014  
Mahatma Education Society is jointly developing an Urban Expansion Observatory in conjunction with New York University Stern School of Business.
 
Society for Failure Analysis Mumbai Chapter started at Dr. K. M. Vasudevan Pillai Campus, Panvel.
 
Pillai HOC College of Engineering and Technology, Rasayani started B.E. in Electrical, Mechanical (2nd Shift) and M.E. in Civil (Construction and Management), Computer (Computer Network and Information System).

2015  
Started EduKidz International - Day Care, Pre-School and Activity Centre at Tilak Nagar, Chembur - A unit of Vidyadhan Educational Development Limited, A Mahatma Education Society initiative.
 
Pillai HOC College of Engineering and Technology, Rasayani started Ph.D. (Technology) Degree.
 
Started Pillai Centre of Innovation and Entrepreneurship
